Air Show Event Report

Schedule

1) Expression Course/Air Time Competitors -- be prepared for launch at Crissy Field at 11am--Red Course.

2) Yachting Cruisers -- be prepared for start at 11:00am and gather in the vicinity of Anita Rock-monitor VHF channel 69 at 11:00pm--Blue Course.

3) Media -- Base and yacht positions provide opportunities for photos, interviews, viewing and in depth reporting of the sport and athletes--Green Course.

4) Spectator vista points are located on the Golden Gate Bridge, Crissy Field Beach, City Front promenade, Angel Island, Alcatraz, Pier 39 and the North end of Treasure Island.

5) Scoring, course format, and rules will be reviewed at the event at 10am. Two event days will be used as the wind allows for competitiors to complete an expression session and air time event. The event will be delayed until a minimum of 10 knots is met. The event will start early if conditions allow. Tides and conditions are best for the event between 11am-1pm. The I-Kite event committee reserves the right to alter, change or cancel the event, course and format at any time.

6) Expression Event Closed - Competitors are invited based on their previously demonstrated experience in kitesailing in these highly difficult conditions. The Expression event is not open. Due to the nature of kiting in extreme tides, waves, high traffic, cold and dangerous weather conditions, participation in the competition event is closed.
