Interactive Kite Tour Golden Gate Invitational

The Interactive Kite Tour Golden Gate Invitational highlights a new experiemental kite surfing event format. Competitors are scored by completing a course slalom which includes compulsory tricks and free choice tricks for overall score. The format was inspired by swimming and diving competition format.

Interactive Kite Tour Golden Gate Invitational

Saturday, May 24th 2003 will be the 2nd event in the Interactive Kite Tour, the Golden Gate Invitational at the city front at Crissy Field 12-4pm. An entirely new format for a kite surfing event will be explored. This will include a short slalom course combined by 2 compulsory tricks plus your 5 chosen tricks. There will be an opportunity to view this event close to shore (we hope) primarily in the vicinity of the East Beach at Crissy.

Join the after party on the grass near the wind sock and of course BYOB. Hosts will prepare lite "vegetarian" food. Perhaps there will be music.

Requirements: Kite leashes are required for all kite participants. You must check in before 12 noon to show your leash and declare your moves on your score card and be identified by the judges? You must capable of kiting previously, be self sufficient and capable of self rescue. All kiters are welcome who satisfy the requirements.
